Errata

As they say “We’re all human, and we all make mistakes.” I’m not sure why human=mistakes. Don’t dogs ever make mistakes? You’d think so. Anyway, despite careful pattern-writing on my part and hopefully careful editing on the part of others, mistakes do make it into patterns.

The following corrections are for the mistakes I know about. If you find one not listed here, please email me and let me know about it, so I can do everything I can to fix the problem!

The Crochet Answer Book

On. p. 77, in the first diagram for single crochet, the arrow is not correct.

In the first printing, on p. 88, the captions were switched on the illustrations. This was heart-breaking to me, because in my opinion it is the most important illustration in the whole book, and it was correct in EVERY SINGLE proof I saw. It got switched at the printer. ARGH! (Second and subsequent printings have been corrected, so your p. 88 may be OK.)

The corrected pages for both errors are here.

Knit & Crochet Ponchos, Wraps, Capes & Shrugs

On p. 24, Coral Capelet, the foundation chain should be “Ch 87.”

On p. 59, Golden Mesh Wrap, Row 4 should read as follows:

Row 4: Ch 5 to turn, ch 6, skip 5 dc, sc in next dc, *ch 6, make Trefoil Stitch, ch 6, skip 9 dc, sc in next dc; repeat from * 4 times, ending last repeat sc in top of turning chain, turn.

On p. 103, Aran Poncho, Rows 1-7 of the collar are incorrect. The correct text is as follows:

Row 1: K2, * T2L, P1, K1, P1, T2R, K1; repeat from * to last stitch, K1 .
Row 2:
P1, *P1, K1 ; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, end P2.
Row 3: K2, * P1, T2L, K1, T2R, P1, K1; repeat from * to
last stitch, K1 .
Row 4:
P1, * P2, K1, P3, K1, P1 ; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, end P2.
Row 5: K2, * T2L, P1, K1, P1, T2R, K1; repeat from * to
last stitch, K1 .
Row 6:
P1, * P1, K1 ; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, end P2.
Row 7: K2, * P1, T2L, K1, T2R, P1, K1; repeat from * to
last stitch, K1 .

Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs

If it's hip to make squares, imagine the coolness quotient of circles, stars, triangles, and hexagons. Beyond-the-Square Crochet Motifs introduces crocheters to more than 150 designs of every size and shape. Full-color photographs capture the intricate details and color work in each motif, and the stitching instructions offer the flexibility of being presented in both text and symbol formats.

Each motif can be quickly crocheted and then used as a small embellishment on a larger item or combined with other motifs to create original pieces, from baby blankets to tote bags. Edie inspires readers to see the world of possibility in each motif. Master the technique, then let the imagination run wild.

Motifs give crocheters the freedom to play with shape, color, and texture in patterns that are small and quickly completed. Motifs — each one a tiny work of art — are at once addictive and rewarding. With its unexpected range of shapes, designs, and color ideas, Beyond-the-Square Crochet Motifs will keep enthusiasts happy for a very long time!
